Can I cancel my debt consolidation program with no consequences?
My husband and I have been in a debt consolidation program and have about 6 months left. We could totally handle the amount that is owed on the remaining cards outside of a debt consolidation program. My concern is if we continue with the program those cards will be closed at the end of the program. If I cancel the program now and continue to pay off the cards on my own, they will not be closed as have other cards that have been paid off during the program . BUT, does making this change and cancelling the debt consolo program effect my credt too??My credit score has risen in the past year quite substantially. I do not want anymore closed accounts showing up on my credit report and affecting my score. We are planning on buying our first home next year and need all the good credit we can get Thoughts??We did not join a debt consolo program because we were behind on our cards. we did it to keep track of our payments. None of the cards have a past 30 day mark on our credit report. It was just the easiest thing for us to do at the time. We make great money, have good credit scores and have been pre approved for a mortgage already. Keep the asshole remarks to yourselves please

What kind of debt consolidation?
My fiance and I both work $100k gross , rent an apartment, have excellent credit and have about $90k in combined debt. We are getting married in a few months and having a low key wedding that has been paid for. We would like to start a family soon and I would like to go back to school for a degree in the medical field. We would like advice on seeking a consolidated loan to pay off all the debt and put a bit aside for the baby. Bank? Lenders? Individual? We are looking for a loan that we can pay off in 3 4 years. Thank you in advance for your time and input. Greatly appreciated.

Auto loan for debt consolidation?
I have less than perfect credit, and I was wondering if I could apply for an auto loan in order to consolidate and pay off all my payday loan debt of about $5000? Ive tried getting personal loans but I can't get approved anywhere, and I need a solution fast because all my payments are about to be due.

Should I attempt debt consolidation or just file bankruptcy?
First things first, don't call me an idiot or say I'm stupid or anything degrading like that. I am coming to yahoo answers for help that I cannot seem to find a specific answer for. That being said here is my story.I was a college student with a credit card and part time job, I lost my job so I wound up living off a credit card for a while and maxed it out after a year. Along with that I had a couple other store credit cards that I had to stop paying because I just did not the have the money to pay rent and keep food on the table and those were my priorities at the time. I haven't been able to pay any thing I owe in almost three years seeing as I was still a student and not working. I have just recently gotten a great job though bringing home around 700 800 a week and I'd like to start either consolidating my debt into an affordable payment per month. I was recommended to file bankruptcy as well seeing as I have over 50,000 in credit debt NOT student loan debt alone. I know it messes up your credit really bad and I won't be able to get a loan for a car or any other credit cards and I'll have issues renting an apartment. I get that, I really do, and I have considered the pros and cons of bankruptcy but it seems as if it is the best option at this time unless I can get a plan where I can make AFFORDABLE monthly payments per month. So yahoo community, with the debt that I have and not paying it for so long, would it be wiser to file bankruptcy or try to find a debt consolidator? Thank you so very much UPDATEI got 50K in debt because I had done a foolish thing and cosigned an apartment for a friend who wound up losing the apartment cause she lost her job as well and couldn't pay. That was about 7grand she still owed, then I broke the least at my apartment to move into a cheaper place which I then owed 5k, then I wound up losing my apartment about a year ago because my student loans never made it through on time to pay my rent and they evicted me which was another 9grand in payments as well as the first apartment I was living at not filing correct paper work for the DWP and canceling my service when I moved out and the person who moved in never changed the bill over and I didn't find out until about a year ago that she racked up a bill over 2k dollars in the time she was living there so that brings us to 24,000 in that, then my credit card was 6400 and my other cards about 2grand which is 32,000. And then on top of ALL this, I had 5 identity thefts from my first apartment

Will debt consolidation improve my credit score?
Between my husband and I we have 4 credit cards that are almost maxed out. Its going to take us too long to pay them off before applying for a mortgage. We dont have any late payments or anything like that on our credit. I was wondering if paying them all off through a consolidation loan would increase our credit scores? All together our debt is less than $3000. Will this help?

Debt consolidation question?
my husband and I are considering debt consolidation, we have several credit card bills, and two vehicle payments. Is it possible to only consolidate the credit cards and not the vehicles? and would it effect our vehicles at all? He is really pushing for this.
